The minister of police affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has applauded the Ministry’s sportsmen and women for their impressive feat at the monthly keep fit walking and jogging exercise of the
Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) for the month of September 2023, marking Nigeria’s 63rd Independence anniversary.
The Police Affairs’ team finished second at the monthly Keep-fit aerobics exercise and was adjudged the best behaved MDAs for the September 2023 edition.
Spokesperson of the ministry, Bolaji Kazeem, said that the minister reiterated the commitment of the ministry to sustain a healthy workforce that is key to achieving accountability, efficiency, and professionalism as well as strengthening the training capacity of the police institutions that would enable them to discharge their duty in a swift and precise process to restore the confidence of Nigerians.
In his words, “As we embark on this journey to strengthen the overall policing architecture of Nigeria, let us all join hands together as we build a safer, more prosperous, and harmonious Nigeria that we can all be proud of.
“Our security architecture is evolving. It is about people and partnerships. It is about forging bonds between law enforcement and the communities they serve. It is about understanding that our strength lies in unity and healthy workers”.
He further said that management will continue to support sporting activities that would enable the staff to be fit and healthy and would enable them to share innovative ideas which will improve policy formulation and implementation in the ministry.
The minister charged the sportsmen/women to double their efforts to win more laurels for the ministry noting that the management is solidly behind them to keep fit and healthy which will engender efficient productivity at work.
