Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino insists Mykhailo Mudryk is making a ‘massive effort’ to turn around his fortunes at the club.

The Ukraine winger has flattered to deceive since his £87million move to Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk last January.

Mudryk has failed to register a single goal or assist this season, and he’s yet to find the back of the net in a Chelsea shirt.

The 22-year-old has mainly been used from the bench so far this season, with Pochettino keen to work with the winger on the training ground.

Chelsea take on rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage tonight, where Mudryk will be seeking for his first goal with the Blues.

But Pochettino says supporters needn’t worry about Mudryk’s long-term future, as he’s ‘improving’ every day.

‘Trust me Mudryk is really making a massive effort to try to integrate himself,’ said Pochettino.

‘He’s trying to understand better what it means to play like a team but he is young.

‘For sure he is going to improve. We are so happy with how he is improving.’
