He made the call in a message by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, on Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary.
Buni, who congratulated Nigerians on the occasion, also commended them for their resilience in ensuring a united country 63 years after its independence despite the challenges it faced.
He charged Nigerians not to be deterred by the challenges, saying “everyone of us has a role to play in building a united, strong and prosperous nation.”
“Every nation has its peculiar challenges, the commitment of Nigerians to a united and progressive Nigeria, has been strong and unshakeable,” he said.
Buni further said Nigeria’s democratic governance has strengthened democracy and provided development in the last 24 years.
”We all have a duty and responsibility to make selfless contributions to strengthen the institution to promote participation in governance”, he added.
