A daughter whose mum’s body was found between the jaws of a 14ft alligator has insisted she did not ‘taunt’ the animal.
Horrifying footage showed the alligator with human blood next to it on Friday afternoon, after it was spotted with a human torso in its mouth in Largo, Florida.
The victim has since been named as Sabrina Peckham, 41, a homeless mum who was reportedly staying in a camp close to the canal she was pulled into.
It is believed she was walking back to the camp in the dark when she was attacked, according to Breauna Dorris who says she is Sabrina’s daughter.
Breauna stressed her mum did not ‘taunt’ the alligator on social media.
‘No matter how you put it, no one deserves to die like this,’ she added.
The heartbroken daughter said the hours since she had found out about the death have been ‘filled with grief and sorrow and unbearable pain’.

She has started a fundraiser for Sabrina’s funeral, saying her family had made no arrangements for it because they had ‘not expected to do this any time soon’.
Breauna wrote: ‘Sabrina was loved by many and we expected many many more years with her.
‘Our family is in shambles trying to cope with this kind of loss. Sabrina only being 41 and homeless at the time had no funeral or death arrangements set up.
‘We will be using the funds raised for crematory expenses and laying her to rest in our family plot.’
She went to address her mum directly, saying: ‘I love you more than I ever expressed, I miss you more than you’ll ever know and I pray that you are looking down over me and your grandchildren.

‘Please protect us. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I pray you are at peace and you are no longer struggling or hurting.’
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding Sabrina’s death, including whether the alligator killed her or she was already dead when it got hold of her.
Police were first called just before 2pm last Friday, after JaMarcus Bullard realised that what he had thought was a mannequin was actually a human torso.
Firefighters were forced to wrestle the beast out of the water so first responders could recover the body.
The animal has since been humanely killed.
