One player in the Chelsea squad is set to be ‘frozen out’ after a £50m transfer to Bayern Munich failed.
The Blues were the biggest spenders this summer and splashed out £434.5m – the most spent by any club during a transfer window in Premier League history.
Chelsea smashed the British transfer record to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and also brought in Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer.
Other new recruits included Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ugochukwu, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic as well as Brazilian duo Deivid Washington and Angelo.
The west Londoners also sold several players – including Kai Havertz and Mason Mount – but there were some squad members they could not get rid of.
One such player they wanted to offload was defender Trevoh Chalobah, who was linked to Bayern, but the German champions would not meet Chelsea’s £50m asking price and instead wanted to sign the 24-year-old on loan.
Chalobah then snubbed a move to Nottingham Forest and according to the Evening Standard, the Chelsea academy graduate may now be ‘frozen out’ after being deemed ‘surplus to requirements’ at Stamford Bridge.

They also claim that Marc Cucurella could be exiled after a potential loan move to Manchester United fell through.
Cucurella was due to join Erik ten Hag’s side before the Red Devils made a U-turn and decided to bring in Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham instead.
Conor Gallagher and Ian Maatsen are fighting for their Chelsea futures too after the club tried to offload both men on deadline day in order to sign Antonio Nusa.
