Chelsea star Benoit Badiashile returns to training in major injury boost

Mauricio Pochettino has been given a major boost by the return of Benoit Badiashile to training.

The defender is yet to play this season after suffering a hamstring injury during pre-season.

The Frenchman suffered a groin injury at the end of last season, which limited his playing time.

With Wesley Fofana a long-term absentee and Thiago Silva struggling with an injury of his own, Pochettino has had to chop and change at the back.

But the international break has been a good opportunity for Chelsea to ease their growing injury list.

Reece James has renewed light training, while Badiashile was spotted back in training with his team-mates.

The defender is likely to need at least a fortnight before making his return but it’s a welcomed boost for Pochettino.

However, there was bad news on Romeo Lavia after scan results revealed the midfielder has suffered ankle ligament damage.

The Belgian, who is yet to make his debut for the club, will be out for six weeks.
