Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian defense minister, has been fired by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the President, the country needs “new approaches” as the war with Russia enters its 19th month.
Zelensky made the announcement on Monday, saying, “I have decided to replace the minister of defense of Ukraine.
“Oleksii Reznikov has gone through more than 550 days of full-scale war.”
The president has picked a former peoples deputy of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, as Reznikov’s replacement.
The sacked defense minister, Reznikov submitted his resignation on Monday.
