Sofyan Amrabat is set to join Manchester United on an initial season-long loan deal after Fiorentina accepted a bid for the midfielder.

United’s head of negotiations, Matt Hagreaves, flew to Florence this morning to conclude a deal for the midfielder.

Financial Fair Play constraints mean United are unable to sign Amrabat on a permanent deal, which Fiorentina had favoured.

However, after agreeing to include an obligation to buy, Fiorentina have accepted United’s offer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Moroccan is flying to England to conclude a medical with the club.

It’s claimed United will pay around £7.5m for an initial loan deal, and they can then purchase the midfielder for around £17.5m in a year’s time.

Amrabat will become United’s fifth signing of the summer, with Sergio Reguilon set to follow him from Tottenham.

United will now look to offload players, with Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly up for sale.
