Investors gained N503 billion on the trading floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Tuesday.
This follows a surge in the share prices of stocks like MRS, IKEJA HOTEL, and MULTIVERSE amongst others in today’s trading, the last before Christmas.
After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization increased to N61.9 billion from N61.4 trillion recorded by the bourse the previous day.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 102,186.03 from 101,356.15 recorded on Monday.
The market breadth was positive as 38 stocks advanced and 21 stocks declined, while 65 stocks remained unchanged in 8,100 deals.
MRS, IKEJA HOTEL, and MULTIVERSE led other gainers with 10%, 9.95%, and 9.90% growth each in share prices to close at N217.80, N11.05, and N5.55 from the previous N198.00, N10.05, and N5.05 per share.

THOMASWY, CAVERTON, and WAPIC led other price decliners with 10%, 7.35%, and 5.03% decline each in share prices to close at N1.71, N2.27, and N1.70 from the previous N1.90, N2.45 and N1.79 per share
On the volume index, UBA led trading with 51 million shares in 563 deals followed by UNIVERSAL INSURANCE which traded 49 million shares in 217 deals.
CI LEASING traded 37 million shares in 65 deals.
On the value index, UBA traded stocks worth N1.8 billion in 563 deals followed by GTCO which traded equities worth N1 billion in 179 deals.
