President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that he will not investigate Nigeria’s security chiefs.
Speaking during a media chat with journalists on Monday, Tinubu expressed confidence in their efforts emphasizing the importance of respecting the institution.
Responding to the question if he will be probing security chiefs on the prevalent insecurity in Nigeria, he said, “I’m not probing any service chief. You cannot disrespect the institution because of the threat of probe, and you cannot fight this war without investment in technology, in weaponry.”
He acknowledged the challenging conditions faced by the security forces and praised their work, asserting that there’s no need for a probe.
Tinubu also expressed his belief in the current security architecture, noting improvements in travel safety compared to previous times.
“They are living and operating in a very serious condition. We have huge country, a very huge one, and lots of forests, unoccupied spaces.
“Give them credit for what they are doing, I am proud of what they are doing today. No need to probe,” he added.
