BURKE Ramsey is the brother of the late JonBenét Ramsey, who was just six-years-old when she was murdered.
His sister’s killer was never caught, but a shocking letter might shed new light on the case.
JonBenét Ramsey’s brother
Burke Ramsey was born in 1987 to parents John Bennett and Patsy Ramsey.
His father is the former CFO and president of Access Graphics and his mother was a beauty pageant winner.
Sadly, his younger sister JonBenét was murdered on Christmas Day 1996 and her body was only discovered the following day.
Patsy found an extremely long ransom note shortly before her daughter’s body was discovered.

The police investigated the crime and focused much of their inquiry on JonBenét’s family.
Pineapple was found within her stomach and Burke’s fingerprints were found on a pineapple container in the house, but he was eventually cleared of all suspicion.
His parents were also cleared of suspicion.
The case remains unsolved, as of December 2024.
A twist in the case
After the release of Netflix’s Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, Burke’s father John received a shocking letter.
John revealed to the Daily Mail that the letter was from a woman who claimed to be the ex-wife of JonBenét’s killer.
He said: “Based on all this publicity, recently I got a letter from a lady saying, ‘My ex-husband’s the killer, and I’ve kept this inside for as long as I can – please, please call me.’
“We reached out to her, but she didn’t answer the phone, so I don’t know.
“We’ve shared at this point with a private investigator.”
The documentary has sparked a renewed interest in JonBenét’s case, but Burke declined to be interviewed.
In the documentary, there is a note that reads: “Citing his treatment by the media and online websleuths, Burke Ramsey declined our request for an interview.”
However, Burke has spoken publicly about his sister’s death, including an appearance on Dr Phil where he said: “I want to honor her memory by doing this interview. I don’t want anyone to forget.”
The people named as JonBenét’s killer
JonBenét’s killer has never been caught, but there are several suspects in the case.
Gary Howard Oliva was named as a suspect in the case, though he has never been charged.
However, he was convicted in 2016 for two counts of attempted child exploitation and one count of sexual exploitation of a child.
Oliva was found with pictures of JonBenét and was eventually discovered to have made a phone call on the night of JonBenét’s death where he said “I just hurt a little girl”.
Another man named John Mark Karr confessed to JonBenét’s murder while working as a teacher in Bangkok.
However, his confession fell apart as he was unable to answer many questions about the case.
