Unite opposition to unseat Tinubu in 2027 – Lukman tells Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been urged to unite opposition political parties in a bid to unseat incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.

In an open letter titled “Satanic Leadership and Nigeria’s Boiling Point,” former Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, Salihu Lukman, cautioned that if the opposition remains fragmented, President Tinubu could easily secure a second term in the upcoming polls.

He stated that Obasanjo, along with other former leaders like Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, has a moral duty to engage all opposition leaders to form a cohesive political entity that can pave the way for the emergence of virtuous leaders in Nigeria.

Lukman emphasized the need to set Nigeria on a path to producing godly leaders for sustainable growth and development.

“It is insufficient to merely lament the existence of Satanic leadership in the country. If you and other past leaders do not use your moral authority to foster the emergence of virtuous leaders, it effectively supports the second term of President Asiwaju and his team of ineffective leaders, perpetuating the issues they have caused.

“This would indicate a preference for Satanic leaders,” he stated.

“My appeal, therefore, is for you and all former leaders to openly support the rise of godly leaders in the country.

“This can only be achieved by rectifying the past mistakes that have led to the current unfortunate situation of having Satanic leaders at all levels.”
