Piers Morgan tore into Arsenal following Saturday’s damaging 0-0 Premier League draw against Everton.
The Gunners failed to capitalise on Liverpool’s failure to beat Fulham at home and for the second week in a row had to settle for a share of the points against opposition they wereheavily fancied to beat.
Everton offered little to nothing by way of an attacking threat, but held on stubbornly for a point that they ultimately deserved.
Jordan Pickford made several smart stops but Arsenal visibly tired as the game wore on and ran out of attacking ideas.
Mikel Arteta attempted to shuffle his pack in the second half and surprisingly substituted his captain Martin Odegaard, as well as record signing Declan Rice.
Substitutes Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard failed to make a telling impact, while Kai Havertz, who ended the game in midfield, now has just one goal in his last eight Premier League games.
‘This is utter crap by Arsenal,’ Morgan wrote on X. ‘Our lack of a proper striker gets more painful with every game.
‘Havertz and Jesus will not win us the League. For God’s sake, buy a bloody striker who can.’
‘It’s disappointing not to win the game,’ said Mikel Arteta after another frustrating result.
‘You don’t concede any shots. Not losing any set-pieces. You have chances. it’s about scoring goals.
‘We opened them up. We had the chances. We have to put them away.
‘Everton at the end they got a point. We didn’t score. They’re happy with the result.’
