The Nigeria Police Force have urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to remain calm, saying heavy sounds of explosives will be emanating from a training exercise within the territory.
A statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to prepare security forces to respond appropriately and adequately to security threats across the country.
According to the statement, the exercise will take place on Thursday (today) the Idu Train Station.
Olumuyiwa said the office of the National Security Adviser in collaboration with the NPF, “wishes to notify residents of the Federal Capital Territory and its environs that there will be a simulation exercise on crisis response around Idu Train Station on THURSDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2024 FROM 9:00am to 2:00pm.
“Members of the public are hereby enjoined not to panic as the exercise, which will come with heavy sounds of explosives, will be carried out in a controlled environment with no possible danger to residents as it is aimed at simulating response to emergency situations.
“Thanks for your understanding and support always”.
