Ogun assembly calls FERMA to begin immediate palliative on federal roads

The Ogun State House of Assembly has called on the officials of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA to step up measures towards addressing the deteriorating state of some of the federal roads in the State, especially the Abeokuta- Ibadan road.

The Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, made the call during the plenary held at the assembly complex, Oke Mosan, on Tuesday.

Elemide noted that there was a need for FERMA through its Comptroller of Works and its officials in the state to complement the State Government’s efforts in road Infrastructure by carrying out necessary palliative works on the Federal roads within the State to ease human and vehicular movements.

He expressed concern that previous palliative works by FERMA always lasted for a season, pointing out that there was a need to carry out extensive work on the failed portions of some of the Federal roads for the benefit of motorists and commuters.
