England have officially confirmed Thomas Tuchel as their new manager to replace Gareth Southgate – and you can stay up to date with our live blog.

Scroll down for key updates as they come in, following the huge announcement that German boss Tuchel become just England’s third foreign manager in history.

Tuchel previously managed Chelsea between 2021 and 2022, helping the west Londoners clinch the Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

The 51-year-old, considered by many to be an elite manager, has also previously been in charge of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

Not everyone is happy with Tuchel’s appointment given his pragmatic style of play while some have also raised concerns with his nationality given Germany are arguably England’s biggest rival in international football.

But there is now no going back for the Football Association (FA) who have taken a gamble on Tuchel ahead of the World Cup in North America in two years’ time.
