Justice Abdullahi Shams-Shammah of the Nasarawa State High Court sitting in the Doma Local Government Area of the state has extended the order restraining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting its congresses in the state.
The court on September 27 gave the restraining order following a motion filed by 16 members of the party led by Senator from Nasarawa South, Mohammed Ogoshi-Onawo.
The PDP, its chairman in Nasarawa, Mr. Francis Orogu, and the State Working Committee were listed as respondents in the suit.
The judge extended the order after listening to arguments from the counsels to the plaintiffs and respondents respectively.

He extended the order and adjourned the case to October 8 for the continuation of hearing.
Earlier, counsel to the plaintiffs, Ishaka Mudi-Diko (SAN), urged the court to extend the restraining order.
The counsel also informed the court that the respondents had gone ahead to conduct ward congresses in the state in violation of the subsisting restraining order.
He urged the court to nullify the ward congresses conducted by the respondents for violating its order.
On his part, counsel to the first respondent, Jacob Nzamanah, acknowledged that four notices regarding the ex-parte order were affixed to the walls of the client’s office.
He argued that his client had not been served with the originating processes, hence the court lacked jurisdiction to continue with the matter.
