The only assured way for Cross River State to advance its economic frontiers will be to stage trade fairs every year, the Commissioner for Commerce in the state, Dr Abigail Orok has emphasised.
The state governor, Bassey Otu has therefore decided to organise annual trade fairs as a way of breaking the lull in the promotion of economic activities in the state.
Orok disclosed this at a media briefing in Calabar, saying the state has decided to rebrand the Cross River trade fair holding in November 2024.
“One of the core mandates of the Ministry of Commerce is the promotion of Commercial/Trade policies of the state with the view to attracting investment opportunities to the state, especially now that the state is evolving a Public-Private Partnership model for her development.”
“The fair will also provide markets for new products, create access to new markets, and development trends as well as build new business relationships within and outside Nigeria.
