BBNaija 9: Drama As Housemates Grumble Over Big Brother’s ‘Maltreatment’

Housemates in the ongoing Big Brother Naija season 9 ‘No Loose Guard’ reality TV show have lamented the harsh treatment meted out to them by the anonymous show organiser, Big Brother.

LEADERSHIP understands that Biggie has charged the housemates several times to become active and make the show lively.

The Buzz show host, Toke Makinwa made a quick stop into the show a few days ago to charge the housemates and inform them that the season 9 set is not giving the drama it promised during the beginning of the show on July 28.

Similarly, fans have complained via social media that the season has turned out to become the most boring ever, speculating that many votes are not coming in, thus, generating minimal revenue for the organisers of the show.

Biggie introduced several tasks for the housemates during the seventh week of the show, granting them minimal time to rest or sleep.

Handi of the former WanniXHandi duo on Thursday complained about the temperature in the house,

“Big Brother, you are dealing with us o.

“What kind of heat is this after weeks of intense cold?

Action Ben also complained that Big Brother’s tone had changed towards him over the past few days.

“He did not even ask me if I have anything else to share during my diary session. He just said leave the room and shut the door,” Ben lamented.

Anita also voiced that her spine was hurting, emphasising that they are not robots but human beings.

“Wetin we do self?” Nelly of the former Nelita pair asked in Pidgin English.

The BBNaija show has become the most anticipated and popular reality TV show in Nigeria because of the drama and controversies that escort the housemates both in and outside the house.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Multichoice Nigeria disclosed in October 2024 that N5.5 billion was invested in the production of the 2023 “All-Stars” edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show.

The show’s serial anchor, Ebuka-Obi Uchendu disclosed in 2019 that the show attracted a total of 240 million votes, and earned an estimate of N7.2 billion from votes alone, during the “Pepper Dem” season won by Mercy Eke Lambo.
