As the Enugu State Council election draws nearer, the chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, LGA, Hon.Obiora Obeagu, has inaugurated a 25-man campaign organization for the election.
Speaking at the event, which took place at Ikem, headquarters of Isi-Uzo LGA, Obeagu, who is the immediate past chairman of the Council commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his uncommon leadership, noting that the governor’s performance had made the PDP a beautiful bride, once more.
“The governor has kept faith with his campaign promises, delivering landmark projects to the people of Enugu State in general and Isi-Uzo in particular.
“From Mgbuji to Aguamede, Eha-Amufu down to Umualor and across our 11 wards, Isi-Uzo has become a project site.
“So, I wish to thank God, our dear governor, and party members for giving me and my team the opportunity to vie in the September 21 election to come back to continue to complement the good work he has started in Isi-Uzo,” he stated.
Hon. Obeagu urged the members of the Isi-Uzo PDP Campaign Organization members to discharge their duties with utmost efficiency and effectiveness to ensure that the party records total victory in the council election.
He equally emphasized the importance of unity and hard work in achieving the party’s objectives.
In his response, Chairman of the Campaign Organization, Hon. Uchechukwu Ugwueze, assured the party stakeholders of the commitment of the campaign team to delivering a resounding victory, promising to secure all 11 councillorship seats and the chairmanship seat in the election scheduled for the 21st of this month.
Ugwueze, who is also a member of the state Executive Committee of the party, called on all PDP faithful to remain dedicated and unwavering in their efforts, stressing that a victory for the PDP would be a victory for the people of Isi-Uzo.
The event had in attendance party stakeholders and faithful, among them the newly elected chairman of the PDP in Isi-Uzo LGA, Hon. Jacob Abonyi; the Deputy Chairman of the Campaign Organisation, Hon. Ogechukwu Nnamani; former Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of Isi-Uzo LGA, and the new Ward Executives.
The event took place amidst great enthusiasm and funfair, even as party members expressed confidence of victory in the election.
