The 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, on Thursday, confidently declared that the party is poised to not only win but take over power in Lagos in 2027.
Rhodes-Vivour made this bold statement while addressing newsmen in Umuahia, Abia state capital, where he attended an extended Stakeholders’ meeting of the Labour Party.
The former governorship flag bearer expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the party’s stakeholders’ meeting, stating that it had brightened the future of the party.
“LP is now well-structured, not just to win but to take power in 2027. What we have come to do here in Umuahia is to bring everybody on the same page. We are set for new victories in 2027,” he said.
Rhodes-Vivour attributed the party’s growing strength to its relentless efforts since the 2023 polls, where it made a significant impact in Lagos during the presidential election.
“I believe Labour Party will win Lagos State more convincingly in 2027. Since after the 2023 elections, work has not stopped; we have not gone quiet. Every day, we are getting stronger and stronger. So, we are not just going to win but stand up and take power,” he added.
The Labour Party’s strategizing and consolidation efforts have positioned it to take control of Lagos State, according to Rhodes-Vivour.
With the party’s stakeholders united and working towards a common goal, Rhodes-Vivour is optimistic about the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
