Even nuclear bombs can’t remove Fubara – Rep Ikenga fumes over Rivers attacks

Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu has condemned the incessant attacks in Rivers State.

The lawmaker, who fingered desperate politicians in the state, asserted that no amount of attacks would remove the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara from office.

Ikenga made the assertion in a statement on Wednesday, while reacting to the recent attack on the Rivers State secretariat of the Action Peoples Party, APP, by unknown gunmen suspected to be political thugs.

DAILY POST recalls that gun-wielding political thugs had attacked a facility belonging to the opposition APP in Rivers.

The incident occurred a few weeks after a bomb was detonated at the same facility, leading to the partial destruction of the building.

Reacting, the lawmaker, who suspected anti-Fubara politicians as the orchestrators of the incessant attacks, declared that not even a nuclear bomb can remove the governor.

He said, “Let it be known that no desperate individual or group can intimidate the opposition in their defence of democracy in Rivers State and there is nothing that can ever lead to removal of the Governor even if they detonate nuclear bomb and set fire on the state as they have publicly declared.

“I am calling on the president to remember the political crisis of the 60 and 80s that saw desperadoes descend on the states and regions with unimaginable crises for democracy.

“This is the time for President Tinubu to act to save democracy and stop these agents of darkness from further worsening situations in the country”.
