A two-year-old started slurring and falling over after a restaurant accidently served her wine instead of juice.
The toddler was taken to hospital following the mistake, where her blood level was found to be dangerously high, according to her parents.
Noemi Valencia and her partner were at a family dinner with their daughter at Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant in Salinas, California in the US when the girl became wobbly.
‘She was swaying, she was falling over, she was leaning on walls, she couldn’t hold her head up, she was slurring her words, Noemi told broadcaster KSBW 8.
The mum looked inside her daughter’s juice cup, which had come with a lid, and gave the brownish-red liquid a sniff, quickly realising it was alcohol.
Noemi and her partner rushed the child to A&E where tests revealed her blood alcohol level was 0.12%, nearly twice the legal driving limit for adults.
A manager at the restaurant said a server had accidently given the toddler house-made cooking wine that had been mislabeled as apple juice, the news station reports.

Noemi urged parents to ‘taste what’s served to your kids’ and called on the eatery to ‘take proper precautions on how you store things and label things’.
The youngster has now fully recovered.
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said it was aware of ‘reports’ of the incident and is working with local authorities to investigate.
