Manchester City legend Ilkay Gundogan has agreed a one-year deal to re-sign for the club from Barcelona.
The German ended his seven-year stay at the Etihad in 2023 in order to sign for Barcelona on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old excelled at the Nou Camp, providing 14 assists and scoring five goals in all competitions last season.
He played over 60% of matches, which triggered a clause in his deal for an extra two years in Spain.
But Barcelona were keen to offload Gundogan following the signing of Dani Olmo and gave permission to the midfielder to leave on a free transfer.

Gundogan had interest from MLS, Turkey and Saudi Arabia but the German was determined to return to the Etihad.
The midfielder will sign a one-year deal with City, with the option of a further 12 months.
Gundogan will become City’s second signing of the summer following the capture of Brazil winger Savinho.
City remain interested in signing a forward following Julian Alvarez’s move to Atletico Madrid.
