Busted make sweetest announcement for two fans at their gig and it’s an emotional moment

Busted made the best gesture for two fans this weekend with thousands of fans joining in the sweet moment.

The Year 3000 pop rockers took over Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent for the last of the estate’s live music events as Charlie Simpson, James Bourne and Matt Willis celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary.

It’s been 22 years since the boys burst onto the scene with their self titled debut album, with a generation of fans growing up with their music and cheeky lyrics.

Those same fans are now in their 30s and starting to settle down, and one couple in the crowd held up a sign asking Busted to help with their gender reveal.

James spotted it near the front and immediately put it to the ‘committee’, with Matt and Charlie quickly agreeing to the expecting parents’ request.

‘We need a drum roll please,’ said James as the trio huddled round a big envelope, and took a moment before revealing the news.

‘It’s a boy,’ they shouted, while Charlie said: ‘That’s awesome!’

‘Congratulations,’ James added, and it turned out the gender reveal was almost as intense for the band as it was for the couple.

Charlie said: ‘Wow! That was nerve wracking! That’s the first time we’ve ever done that!’

‘That’s f***ing exciting,’ Matt beamed. ‘That s**t didn’t happen in 2004! You with your f***ing bunny ears on!’

The show started with a massive rendition of Air Hostess, before a hit filled set with banger after banger, from Meet You There and What I Go To School for to You Said No, Crashed The Wedding and Year 3000.

The whole evening was a celebration, but the group couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at their friends in McFly as they remembered that the last time they played at Trentham, the All About You group were the opening act.

‘Where they f***ing belong,’ Matt quipped, jokingly describing their pals as ‘PG’ and ‘cocky’ with their own success.

Taking another massively tongue in cheek shot at Tom Fletcher in particular, he teased ‘Are we just ignoring this ‘tasche?’

He later suggested the band should have a full-blown scrap, even throwing out the idea of a mud wrestling match with Dougie Poytner to the delight of the crowd, before pointing out that they ‘love’ each other really.
