Ex-President and Republican nominee Donald Trump returned from a hiatus to X (formerly Twitter) ahead of an interview with the platform’s owner, Elon Musk.
Trump shortly after noon on Monday posted a flyer with images of himself and Musk, advertising their conversation ‘live on X’ scheduled to start later in the day.
‘ENJOY!’ Trump captioned the post.
Trump also reposted his campaign stating that ‘IT WILL BE THE INTERVIEW OF THE CENTURY!’ along with the hashtag #TrumpOnX.

Trump that morning had posted on the social media site, ‘Are you better off now than you were when I was president?’ and said the US’s economy ‘is shattered’, its border ‘erased’ and that it is a ‘nation in decline’.
He also shared several videos pitching his candidacy ahead of the November election.
The posts were his first on X since he shared his mugshot on August 24, 2023, in his Georgia election interference case.
That was his first post on the platform formerly known as Twitter, until Musk revamped it, since the days after the January 6 Capitol riot.

When is Donald Trump’s interview with Elon Musk?
Trump’s interview with Musk is scheduled to start at 8pm ET on X.
Musk has announced the conversation on Sunday shortly before 9pm.
‘This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining!’ wrote Musk.
‘If you have specific questions & comments, post them under the chat.’

Trump’s interview with Musk could reach a wider audience than many conservatives who regularly watch him on Fox News.
It is not the first time that Musk has hosted a presidential candidate on X.
In May 2023, a challenger to Trump for the GOP nomination, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, had an untraditional start to his 2024 campaign, announcing it on Twitter Spaces with Musk hosting.

The platform experienced about a half hour of technical issues and crashed. It was ultimately deemed a bad look for DeSantis, who eventually dropped out of the race with Trump far ahead in the polls.
Trump, who has been posting regularly on his own Truth Social platform instead of X, has been doing more unconventional interviews since President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign and Vice President Kamala Harris secured the Democratic nomination.
A week ago, he had a 90-minute interview with 23-year-old live streamer Adin Ross, who gifted him a Tesla Cybertruck, a Rolex watch and a Diet Coke. It was viewed as aimed at appealing to a younger demographic of voters. Trump told Ross regarding his viewership and the interview, ‘I hope you’re going to break your record by a lot.’
