Police have launched an urgent search for a ‘violent’ mental health patient who has been deemed a risk to women after he escaped a care facility.
Balasankar Narayanan, 44, escaped his carers on August 4 when he was visiting a north London park on supervised leave.
Metropolitan Police wrote: ‘While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him. He can be violent and is considered a risk to women – if you see him please don’t approach him, but call police immediately.
‘He has links across London, notably Newham, Greenford, Hammersmith, Highgate and Ilford, as well as the West Midlands. He has also been found in Grays and Manchester.’
Narayanan previously escaped his care facility three times, though it’s unclear where he was found then.

In April, a similar incident occurred when Philip Theophilou, 54, sparked a police appeal after leaving his mental health facility in Homerton, east London.
Theophilou stabbed his neighbour to death two decades ago, in April 2004.
He waited outside Simon Breed’s home in Alexandra Park before knifing him in the chest six times.
Theophilou then hid in Hyde Park, living rough for three days before being caught by police – years later, he lived in a mental health facility.
