A fire erupted inside one of Britain’s oldest kosher restaurants along Baker Street, central London, this morning.
The blaze started at 4.56am, burning through both the ground and first floor of the four-storey building.
Around 20 people had to be evacuated.
Sixty firefighters brought the blaze under control by 7.10am, fire officials said in an incident report.
According to footage, the fire gutted Reubens, a nearly five-decade-old kosher restaurant that has served generations of Jewish Londoners.
A few minutes walk from Baker Street and Marleybone Tube stations, the eatery’s website says it is ‘the longest-running kosher restaurant in the UK and the only kosher restaurant in the West End’.

A photograph shared by the London Fire Brigade shows the front windows of Rebuens shattered and the inside blackened.
Traffic in the area will likely be tied up this morning as crews remain on the scene, the brigade said.
It is not known if there have been any injuries. The cause of the fire is unclear.
