Keely Hodgkinson will take centre stage for Team GB in tonight’s Athletics schedule at the Stade de France.

The double World Champion is the hot favourite to claim the gold medal as Great Britain look to win their first Athletics gold medal since the Rio 2016 games.

Hodgkinson breezed into the final with a time of 1:56.86 in Saturday’s semi-finals, finishing in first place to cement her position as the runner to beat.

And should the 22 year-old finish on the top step in Paris, she will join the illustrious list of former British middle-distance stars to have tasted success in the Greatest Show on Earth.

How many medals has Keely Hodgkinson won in her career so far?

Hodgkinson has won 10 major medals in her career to date.

Tokyo 2020 saw Hodgkinson win a silver medal in the event, aged just 19 at the time, as she broke the British record previously set by Dame Kelly Homes in 1995.

She has emerged victorious from the last two World Championships, in 2022 and 2023, an upgrade from the silver she won in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Hodgkinson is also a two-time European silver medallist (2022 and 2024), a two-time European indoor champion (2021 and 2023) and a two-time Diamond League winner.

The 2021 win saw her become Europe’s youngest ever women’s indoor 800m champion.
