A leading healthcare technology company, Emergency Response Africa, has embarked on community safety through a comprehensive First Aid and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training programme.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation popularly known as CPR is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating.
The training is part of the company’s broader mission to enhance emergency medical management across Africa by equipping individuals and organisations with essential life-saving skills.
The Co-founder and CEO of Emergency Response Africa, Folake Owodunni, said the programmme which is available at ERA’s training centre in Lagos and online, provided critical hands-on experience in managing medical emergencies.
Owodunni said the participants would be trained in vital skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first-aid techniques, and care for sick and injured individuals until professional help arrives.
She explained that the firm plans to offer two certification options to ensure participants were recognised by prominent health and safety authorities.
She stated, “Empowering individuals and organisations with the skills to respond to emergencies can make the difference between life and death.
“Our First Aid and CPR Training Programme is not just about education; it is about building a community of first responders who are ready to act when it matters most.”
She also said the curriculum of the training programme is both comprehensive and practical, led by experienced professionals.
She stressed that the programme is designed not only to educate but also to build confidence among participants, preparing them for real-life emergencies.
“In addition to the First Aid and CPR Training Program, ERA offers a wide range of services aimed at improving emergency response across Africa. This includes a network of trained First Responders, a fleet of ambulances, and Emergency-Ready hospitals in Nigeria. ERA’s technology platform integrates these services into a unified system, supported by a 24/7 Command Center.
