Transport networks across London are bracing themselves for one of the busiest days of the summer holiday travel season.
But it’s been less than a smooth start for some travellers as flights were axed at London airports, including at Heathrow, and on Eurostar due to a series of coordinated arsons.
The motoring expert RAC is predicting 3.2 million car journeys on UK roads on ‘Frantic Friday,’ with major queues likely to form at three hotspots over the weekend.
Southern trains and Gatwick Express to and from London Victoria station have been hit by severe disruption until noon.
Elsewhere, passengers on the London Underground were spared any major disruption at rush hour this morning, with only minor delays reported on the DLR and Central line.
