Urgent recall for over 19,000 bags of freezer staples that should have NEVER been sold in the UK

MCCAIN Foods GB has issued an immediate recall for 19,000 freezer staples that should never have been sold in the UK.

There is a risk of the potential presence of UK-specific allergens (mustard and celery) and ethylene oxide – used to preserve product seasoning.

The frozen food giants had imported the products from India as part of a small UK market trial.

However, an error in the compliance check process meant that they had not been thoroughly assessed for the UK market.

McCain claims that at least 18,671 items were purchased by customers before their removal from the shelves.

The products are:

McCain Veggie Burger Patty 360g
