Former Colombia striker, Adolfo Valencia, has suggested how his country can beat Argentina when both teams clash in the Copa America 2024 final at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday.
Valencia wants Colombia to take advantage of the fact that Argentina captain Lionel Messi has lost speed and strength to exploit La Albiceleste during the encounter.
According to him, the 37-year-old Inter Miami forward is no longer one who cannot be marked.
He noted that Messi’s dribbling is on the wane, an ‘advantage’ Colombia should exploit.
“He is no longer the Messi we were used to seeing at Barcelona, who could get past six or seven players. He has lost speed and strength over the years,” Valencia said (as per Albiceleste Talk).
“That is an advantage we have to try to exploit. Without taking away from everything he has done, Messi can now be marked by anyone.”
