A woman allegedly killed her ‘sugar daddy’ and then severed his thumb in order to access a finance app on his phone.
Tiffany Taylor Gray, 22, was pictured entering Fasil Teklemariam’s apartment in Washington, DC, on April Fool’s Day, according to an affidavit obtained by News4 this week.
Four days later, police discovered Teklemariam’s body in his apartment, with his right thumb chopped off, head trauma and stabbing sounds, states the affidavit.
A witness told cops that he was Gray’s ‘sugar daddy’ and that she used his thumb to get into a banking app on his phone to purchase drugs and alcohol.

Investigators uncovered a complaint that Teklemariam filed last year stating that Gray used his cell phone to steal $1,800 from his banking app.
They also found that his cell phone last received a notification from a tower in College Park, Maryland, which is close to where Gray was renting an apartment.
Investigators are convinced that Gray used Teklemariam’s sliced off thumb to enter his phone. The thumb and his phone have not been recovered.
CCTV footage at the entrances of Teklemariam’s apartment complex on Peabody Street NW showed Gray; Audrey Miller, 19; and two men; entering and leaving the building over a few days, states the affidavit. They were recorded taking items out of the apartment, which they accessed using Teklemariam’s fob key.

Gray was arrested on July 1 in Prince George’s County and charged with first-degree murder and armed felony murder. She was set to be extradited to Washington, DC.
Miller was arrested earlier, on June 21, and charged with first-degree murder and armed felony murder. She is being held ahead of her preliminary court hearing.
One of the two men accompanying the women has been identified but not charged.
