Following their Euro 2024 victory over Switzerland, English players have been banned from talking about penalties to keep their shoot-out secrets safe.
Mirror reports that England coach Gareth Southgate issued the ban after all five takers found the back of the net while goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a crucial save in the encounter on Saturday, July 6.
Per the report, Southgate has employed different strategies to enhance England’s penalty records; a psychologist, analysts and intense practice sessions.
Added to the above, English players have also been instructed against talking about shootouts in a clear attempt to stop it from becoming too much of an obsession.
Further, Pickford, Marc Guehi and Ezri Konsa have all been stopped from answering questions on penalties during the Euro 2024 tournament.
England will face the Netherlands semi-finals, a clash that is undoubtedly expected to be one of the most thrilling so far in the competition.
