Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Bologna defender, Riccardo Calafiori this summer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Premier League North London club are set to agree on a deal with Bologna where they will have to pay a transfer fee of around £42m to secure the signature of the 22-year-old.
The report added that the Gunners are ahead of Chelsea and Juventus in the race to sign the Italian.
Meanwhile, in another development, midfielder, Melanie Leupolz has departed Chelsea’s Women team after four trophy-laden seasons to join Spanish club Real Madrid.
Leupolz, 30, joined the Blues in March 2020 and established herself as a reliable presence in the Chelsea midfield.
Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via their website on Wednesday.
The German international was part of the Germany squad for the 2023 World Cup.
She retired from international football after the tournament.
“Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Melly for the contribution she has made to our success over the last four years. We wish the best for her and her family as they begin a new chapter,” Chelsea’s statement read in part.
