England 19 Wales 17: Owen Farrell facing World Cup BAN after red card for horror high tackle

OWEN FARRELL could miss England’s World Cup opener after seeing red against Wales.

The captain was initially sin-binned for his shocking no-arms tackle on Taine Basham.

But after an off-field video review, the punishment was upgraded to a red.

Farrell will now be sweating over a possible ban just four weeks before England face Argentina – with the Saracens star desperately close to overtaking Jonny Wilkinson as England’s all-time top points scorer.

And that poured more misery on England on a nightmare evening at Twickenham which saw their ill-discipline cost them heavily against the neighbours before George Ford’s dramatic late penalty snatched an unconvincing 19-17 victory.
