Christian Eriksen scores in fairytale comeback in first Euros match since cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen enjoyed a fairytale return as the Danish midfielder opened the scoring for his nation in his first match back at the European Championships since his cardiac arrest in 2021.

Eriksen collapsed during the first half of Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 football match against Finland back in 2020.

The Manchester United midfielder made a superb comeback to the sport and marked his return to the Euros in style as he scored the opening goal for Denmark against Slovenia.
