Eid-El-Kabir, reminder of unfailing grace of God on humanity — Adeleke, Ododo

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, and his Kogi State counterpart, Usman Ododod, have said the significance of Eid-el-Kabir is a reminder of the unfailing grace of the Almighty Allah on humanity.

They made this known in their Sallah messages issued on Sunday.

Adeleke, who noted that the occasion underscored the reward of obedience and faith in Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), charged the Muslim faithful to take a cue from Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) act of selflessness and submissive posture.

He called on Muslim faithful to use the occasion to renew bonds and build a safe and healthy society.

“I congratulate every Muslim on this significant Islamic festival and ask that we rededicate ourselves to upholding the essence of the occasion, which underscores sacrifice and faith in Allah.

“Let us use this period to uphold the spiritual benefits of the celebration by sharing love and togetherness across all divides, while not forgetting to seek the face of Allah for continuous peace and progress of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“As a government, we are taking the lead on sacrifice in order to bring about a better situation for the people as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and I urge the people to exercise this same attitude so as to achieve a better condition in the social, economic, and political landscape of not just Osun State but also Nigeria.

“I call for sustained support and prayer for our administration in our drive to transform Osun and make it the envy of other places not just in Nigeria, but across Africa.”

On his part, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, has urged Nigerians, particularly the people of the state to key into the programs and policies of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as they are meant to better the nation.

Ododo, who gave the charge shortly after observing his Eid-el-Kabir prayers in Okene, called for intense prayers for the present administration to overcome its challenges.

He described the president as one resolutely committed to bringing a new lease of life to the people despite the initial difficulties.

While assuring that the present administration in the state will continue to make security its cardinal priority, the Governor said Kogi State is not a fertile land for criminals to come and test their intelligence.
