Sverre Nypan has made a decision on his immediate future amid transfer interest from Arsenal.
The highly-rated teenager was in talks to join the Gunners this month, but was also said to be considering offers from the likes of Girona and Aston Villa.
Nypan attended Manchester City’s game against Chelsea last weekend raising fears the Premier League champions were preparing their own offer.
City, however, are understood not to have any immediate plans to recruit the 18-year-old who has starred for Rosenborg this season.
Despite the intense efforts of several leading clubs, Nypan has decided to spend the remainder of the current season with the Norwegian club, according to The Athletic.
Arsenal were said to be ready to put Nypan straight into their first team squad where he would have been mentored by Norway’s national team captain Martin Odegaard.
Nypan’s decision to remain at his current club – whose domestic season runs from March until November – represents another setback for Arsenal who have thus far endured a difficult window.

Arteta remains desperate to reinforce his forward line which has been stripped of Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka due to injury.
