As infertility continues to rise in Nigeria, particularly among young men and women, experts are set to address the alarming issue at an upcoming fertility conference.
The event, organised by Quiver Full Foundation, will explore the causes of declining fertility rates in the country and offer insight into effective solutions.
In a statement obtained by PUNCH Healthwise on Tuesday, the online conference scheduled for January 25, 2025, will provide Nigerians with a platform to engage with leading fertility experts.
A renowned reproductive health specialist from Nordica Fertility Centre, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi is expected to deliver a keynote address, alongside other prominent speakers including multiple award-winning entrepreneur, Mrs. Yewande Zaccheaus, mental health expert, Mrs. Gbemi Adekoya, Apostle Femi Lazarus, and popular TV personality, Mrs. Tope Mark-Odigie.
According to the statement, the conference will focus on the latest findings in fertility research, highlighting lifestyle factors, dietary habits, and the growing impact of environmental and medical influences on infertility rates.
Participants will also gain insights into assisted reproductive technologies, emotional wellness, and available fertility treatments.
The event is expected to empower Nigerians with the knowledge to overcome infertility challenges, providing free, unlimited access to all who wish to attend.
The statement revealed that the initiative is part of Quiver Full Foundation’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about fertility issues and support Nigerian couples facing difficulties conceiving.
“Over the past seven years, the Lagos-based charity has successfully assisted at least 40 couples, resulting in 20 births. Founded in 2017 by Mrs. Catherine Oyenike Abagun, the Quiver Full Foundation has made significant strides in the field of assisted conception, and last year, Mrs. Abagun was honoured with the NHN International Woman of Excellence Award for her contributions to community service.
“The online fertility conference is free to attend and will provide an invaluable opportunity for Nigerians to learn about the most effective ways to tackle infertility and improve reproductive health,” the statement stated.
