The Alaafin of Oyo designate, Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade has arrived Oyo town amidst fanfare and pageantry.
DAILY POST reports that Owoade arrived the ancient town of Oyo few hours after he was presented a letter of appointment and staff of office by governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

Makinde in the early hours of Monday, presented the letter and staff of office to the newly appointed traditional ruler at his office in Ibadan, the state capital.
The Alaafin-designate has now arrived the ancient city of Oyo to begin the necessary traditional rites.
Traditional drummers were seen welcoming the newly appointed traditional ruler.
A source close to the palace told DAILY POST that Owoade is expected to begin traditional rites immediately.
The source said the Alaafin-designate is expected to spend one month in seclusion before his coronation.
“I love what is happening. He has arrived Oyo this morning. It is good. We are following the development.
“He will begin the traditional rites immediately. It is going to be one month. Then after the completion of the traditional rites, he will be coronated”.
