First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, visited the Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, and his wife, Hajia Hadiza Umar Namadi, following the tragic demise of their son, Abdulwahab.
In a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, she was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shetimma, and the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abbas.
During the visit, Senator Tinubu said that the incident made her remember the sovereignty of God over life and death, as man’s life belongs to God.
“God owns us all and has assigned time to everyone. He can call anyone home anytime,” she said.
“May God comfort you and the entire state. I pray that my next visit here will be for a joyful occasion.”
The governor expressed his appreciation for the personal visit by the First Lady, describing it as the highest expression of condolence. He described the loss of his son and his mother, who died a day apart, as an act of God and something his family has accepted in faith.
