The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Dr Peter Odey, has cautioned leaders of council legislative houses against hearsay and gossiping.
He also cautioned them against divisive practices, urging them to maintain a harmonious working relationship with their council chairmen.
Odey addressed the lawmakers during a crucial meeting in Calabar on Thursday.
Informing them about upcoming legislative training, Odey highlighted the importance of building capacity for effective governance and the need to foster unity
He assured that their official vehicles would be delivered within the month of January.
Emphasising need for collaboration, he urged them to always remember their role as “primus inter pares” (first among equals) and to treat their colleagues with respect and decorum.
Responding, leader of the Etung Local Government Council, ThankGod Ekupnse, thanked the government for prioritizing the welfare of Cross Riverians, particularly the youth.
