Senator Lawal Usman, representing Kaduna Central, has dismissed calls for his recall by the Kaduna Elders Forum (KEF), labeling their allegations of non-performance as baseless and politically motivated.
In a statement titled “Kaduna Elders’ Forum’s Infantile Outbursts: Empty Barrel Making the Most Noise,” Senator Usman, popularly known as “Senator LA,” criticized the KEF’s renewed recall threat as a continuation of an insincere campaign against him. “These are meddlesome interlopers undeserving of serious attention,” he said, responding to the group’s accusations.
The senator, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education (Basic and Secondary) and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Financial Matters, dismissed the recall threats as distractions. “I am too busy for frivolities,” he said, emphasizing his focus on critical national assignments.
Senator Usman accused the KEF of spreading misinformation about his work, stating that his achievements over the past 18 months are “visible and measurable.” He argued that his detractors were engaging in “childish tantrums” instead of verifying his track record.

Recalling a similar threat issued last year under the banner of the Kaduna Peace and Tranquility Forum (KPTF), Usman mocked the group’s transformation into the KEF, describing it as a laughable attempt to rebrand. “The repeated threats are not only insincere but also ridiculous,” he remarked.
He urged the people of Kaduna Central to ignore what he described as “falsehoods” being propagated by the KEF, accusing the group of serving the interests of political sponsors rather than genuinely representing the constituents. “This group has lost any moral ground to speak for the people,” he asserted.
Concluding his statement, Senator Usman appealed to his constituents to remain calm and dismiss the KEF’s provocative rhetoric. “These threats deserve no more than disdain,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling his legislative duties.
