Governor Monday Okpebholo has sent a list of six commissioner nominees to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
DAILY POST reports that the governor’s letter, dated January 7, 2025, was addressed to the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku.
The letter was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
The six nominees are Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, a two-time lawmaker in the State House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Information and Orientation during the first tenure of the immediate past governor, Godwin Obaseki; Dr. Washington Osa Osifo, a one-time Commissioner for Education during the administration of Adams Oshiomhole and one of the 14 All Progressives Congress-elected lawmakers not inaugurated by the immediate past Governor; Sir Lucky Eseigbe; Andrew Ijegbai; and Dr. Paddy Iyamu, the current State Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board.
