Ruud van Nistelrooy is hopeful that Jamie Vardy will return from injury for Leicester City’s Premier League match against Manchester City on Sunday.
Vardy, who has scored six goals in the Premier League this season, missed Leicester’s 3-1 defeat away to Liverpool on Boxing Day due to a knock.
Van Nistelrooy was also without centre-back Wout Faes and first-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen for his side’s loss to the Premier League leaders.
‘Jamie Vardy is one of those, Wout Faes is one of those, he’s doubtful,’ Van Nistelrooy said.
‘Jamie has a good chance, hopefully he can make it.
‘And [Mads] Hermansen, as I said before, he’s going to need a bit longer to recover.’
The defeat at Anfield has left Leicester 18th in the Premier League and a point behind 17th-placed Wolves, who beat both the Foxes and Manchester United under new manager Vitor Pereira.
