Alarms were raised on 21 December when the Cessna aircraft, registration PT-JCZ, did not present a flight plan.

It did not appear on air traffic control’s radar either.

Images shows horrific scenes at the crash site located in what appears to be a practically inaccessible area of the Amazon rainforest.

The 29-year-old had told his family that he had been hired to fly from Porto Velho to Manaus.

Machado was accompanied on the hour and a half flight across Brazil by a 27-year-old passenger named Breno Braga Leite.

The last GPS location for the doomed plane was over the southeast region of Manicoré.

Search parties spent several days trying to find the pair, as well as the plane.

But finally, on Christmas Day, the wreckage was discovered.

The search was conducted by the FAB with help from the civil police, military police, fire department and sniffer dogs.

The location of the plane crash proved to be incredibly difficult to access due how woody the rainforest is.

He will be buried in São Paulo, NeedToKnow reports.

It comes as haunting footage reveals passengers on board the doomed Azerbaijan Airlines flight just moments before it crashed – killing 38 people.

Dozens of passengers, including children, miraculously survived the tragic Christmas Day crash after Flight J2-8243 carrying 67 people hit the ground near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan.

The plane had been en route from Baku in Azerbaijan to Grozny in Russia – but was rerouted due to bad weather conditions.

Azerbaijan Airlines initially said the plane crashed after flying through a flock of birds – but it later withdrew the statement.

It is understood Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 was hit by an air defence missile while landing in the Russian city of Grozny after taking off from Baku in Azerbaijan.

Putin’s forces have also been accused of jamming the plane’s systems and refusing the stricken aircraft permission to make an emergency landing in Russia.

Hero pilots bravely struggled on in their crippled airliner – managing to cross the Caspian Sea before plummeting to the ground near Aktau International Airport in Kazakhstan.

But their efforts managed to save the lives of 29 out of the 67 people on board – even as both of them died in the horrific crash.
