Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has directed all recently reassigned commissioners to complete the handover of their responsibilities before the close of business on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
A statement on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, explained that the cabinet reshuffle would take full effect during the next Executive Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The statement further stated that all commissioners affected by the changes are directed to hand over their responsibilities between Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th December 2024.
The governor also stressed the importance of completing all transition processes within the stipulated timeframe, to ensure minimal disruption to government operations.
The governor, in his message to the State Executive Council, also called for renewed dedication and teamwork, advising members to uphold a strong commitment to supporting the administration in delivering on its promises to the people of Kano State.
Yusuf reiterated, “The spirit of teamwork, dedication and commitment remains crucial for achieving our collective goal of serving the good people of Kano.”
The cabinet reshuffle is part of the governor’s plan to improve governance in the state.
The governor had on Thursday scrapped the Office of Chief of Staff, dropped the Secretary to the State Government, and sacked five commissioners.
