Arsenal are hopeful they will have Gabriel Magalhaes available when they host Everton to the Emirates this afternoon.
Mikel Arteta has been without two of his first-choice back four for the last three games with Riccardo Calafiori also sidelined with a groin injury.
The pair have missed clashes with Manchester United and Fulham while also sitting out of the Champions League victory over Monaco on Wednesday night.
After weeks of little to no information on the injury situation at the back, Arteta did offer up a few more details this week, explaining Gabriel has been struggling with a muscular problem brought about a heavy schedule for club and country this season.
Calafiori meanwhile has been recovering from a groin issue.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Arsenal boss confirmed Gabriel is in contention to return to the starting XI with Calafiori likely needing a bit more time.
Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber missed training on Tuesday, sparking more injury fears at the back.
Partey, who has been deputising at right-back in recent weeks, started midweek, however, playing the full 90 minutes against Monaco with Jurrien Timber coming off the bench in the second-half.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain sidelined as they recover from knee issues.
Gabriel Jesus meanwhile was given the nod up front against Monaco but was guilty of missing two golden opportunities to get on the scoresheet.
Kai Havertz, who replaced him for the final 15 minutes, was on target, scoring Arsenal’s third late on.
After a 1-1 draw with Fulham last weekend, Arsenal head into the weekend six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand after the Merseyside derby was postponed last weekend.
Chelsea have moved ahead of them into second place.
Predicted Arsenal XI to face Everton
Raya, Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Odegaard, Rice, Merino, Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
